Hamamatsu Diorama Factory is Japan’s only dedicated diorama gallery,
showcasing around 100 works including creations by renowned scene artist
Takuji Yamada and award-winning entries from the Hamamatsu Diorama Grand Prix.
The museum houses more than 450 works by Takuji Yamada,
with rotating seasonal exhibitions that offer visitors a different atmosphere each time they visit.
Admission is affordable and family-friendly:
Adults ¥300, Junior & Senior High School Students ¥200,
Elementary School Students ¥100, and Preschool Children Free.
The Hamamatsu Diorama Grand Prix (HDGP) is Japan’s only competition dedicated entirely to dioramas,
held every August since 2012 by Hamamatsu Diorama Factory.
Entries from professionals and hobbyists across many genres compete for the Grand Prix,
selected by both professional judges and visitor voting.
HiD (High School Diorama Grand Prix) is a nationwide diorama competition for high school students,
held every March in Japan.
Through creative ideas and free expression,
the competition supports and inspires the next generation of creators.
